WILLIAM B. JONES
, another brother of Jonathan F., was born in Caroline county, Virginia, July 4, 1821; he went with his parents to Kentucky, and in the fall of 1834, moved to this county, where they located and entered land in the northwest corner of Springfield township, and remained until their death; his father died January 1, 1848, and his mother in 1876. William B. was thirteen years of age when he came to this county, and was principally self-educated. At the age of sixteen he united with the Baptist Church; he afterward began to preach, and has continued in that vocation up to the present time. For many years he was pastor of the Bethel Church, but on account of failing health has given up his labors, to some extent. In 1834, he was married to Elizabeth A. McKinnie, who was born in Kentucky, in 1823, and they had one child - Maria L. - born December, 1846, and died December 12, 1850. April 12, 1875, Mrs. Jones died, and August 29, 1877, Mr. Jones married Ella M.
Brooks, born March 19, 1840. He owns thirty-seven acres of land, which is a part of the land entered by his father in 1834. He is a Republican.
