RIDGELY, REDICK M., was born March 29, 1830, in St. Louis, Mo., and brought by his father (N. H. Ridgely) to Springfield in 1835. He was married July 1, 1850, to Margaret Aitken, who was born March 6, 1835, in Glasgow, Scotland. They have four living children, JANEY H., ALICE M., REDICK and JOHN A. Redick M. Ridgely was City Treasurer from 1851 to 1853, a member of the Board of Supervisors of Sangamon county for two years, and a member of the City Council four years. He was in the Quartermaster's Department in Springfield from 1861 to 1862, and was in the same department in Memphis, Tenn., from 1862 to 1865. He is now -- 1876 -- Superintendent of all the street railroads of Springfield.
